Superior Dough is a small app that stands on a lot of work it did not write. The list below is what we use today. If you spot something we are using and have not credited, email hello@superiordough.com and we will fix it.

Type and design
- Avenir Next — designed by Adrian Frutiger and Akira Kobayashi, licensed through Linotype / Monotype. The single typeface in the product, in four working weights.
- Feather Icons — open-source icon set used across the product UI, MIT-licensed.
Reference and craft
The formulas, technique notes, and flour intelligence in the app are informed by working bakers, books, and milling-industry data sources. Notable references:
- Tartine Bread — Chad Robertson. The high-hydration country loaf vocabulary still owes a debt here.
- Flour Water Salt Yeast — Ken Forkish. The schedule discipline and dough-temperature targets that shape the workflow engine.
- The Bread Bible — Rose Levy Beranbaum. The percentage-thinking that is the foundation of Formula Lab.
- Modernist Bread — Nathan Myhrvold and Francisco Migoya. Reference for the deeper science questions that come up in the long Baker Chat conversations.
- King Arthur Baking, Bob's Red Mill, Central Milling, and Cairnspring Mills — public flour data the flour-intelligence module aggregates and normalizes.
Beta bakers
The home bakers and craft bakers who tested early builds, broke things, and told us about it. We will name names with their consent in a future update.
