Community Guidelines
What we celebrate, what we remove, and how to report content on The Bench.
The Bench is the public side of Superior Dough — a place to share bakes, formulas, and technique. These guidelines exist to keep it useful and welcoming. Post like you would talk to another baker at the back door of a bakery at three in the morning: honest, generous, and craft-first.
What we celebrate
- Bakes you are proud of — crumb shots, crust shots, mistakes you learned from.
- Formulas you have iterated on and want to share.
- Specific technique notes — timing, temperature, what you would do differently.
- Credit where it is due. Link or name the baker who taught you a trick.
- Helpful replies to questions, even when the answer is "try again."
What we remove
- Harassment or abuse. Personal attacks, targeted mockery, slurs.
- Spam or off-topic promotion. Unrelated products, MLM, affiliate dumps, drop-shipping referrals.
- Copyrighted content without license. Don't post someone else's bake photo or formula without credit and permission.
- Adult content. This is a baking app.
- Hate speech. Content targeting people based on race, ethnicity, national origin, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability, or religion.
- Impersonation. Don't claim to be a public baker you are not.
- Misinformation that could cause harm. Unsafe food-handling advice, for example.
How to report
Every Bench post, comment, and profile has a report option in its overflow menu. Tell us what is wrong and, if you want, give us context. Reports reach the moderation queue directly. We review in order received.
What happens after a report
- We compare the content against these guidelines.
- Clear violations are removed quickly.
- Borderline content gets a note back to the user.
- Repeat or severe violations result in account suspension or permanent ban.
- We do not publicly discuss individual moderation decisions.
Block
Don't want to see or interact with a specific baker? Open their profile, choose Block from the overflow menu. Blocks are bidirectional — neither of you sees the other's posts or comments.
